MSC manages over 4,000 residential units, including apartments, townhouses, duplexes, houses, and cottages in Charlottesville, Richmond, Roanoke, Salem, Manassas, Farmville, and Harrisonburg, Virginia, as well as Greenville, North Carolina. In the mid-1990s, MSC began a series of substantial rehabilitation projects. Woodrow Apartments in Charlottesville was a $1.2 million project completed in 1997. Rehabilitation projects in excess of $12 million were completed in Charlottesville and Richmond at Four Seasons Apartments and Harbor Village Apartments respectively. In 1997, MSC undertook its first new-development project in Roanoke with the construction of a 140-unit luxury apartment community known as Glade Creek. Two smaller projects, Wertland Apartments and Maupin House, were built in Charlottesville in 1999. A 192-unit luxury student community in Harrisonburg called Sunchase Harrisonburg was completed in 2000 and construction of a second phase of Glade Creek in Roanoke was completed Fall 2001. In 2003, a substantial rehabilitation of Rugby McIntyre Apartments in Charlottesville was completed, followed by the construction of Sunchase at Longwood, a 140-unit luxury apartment and commercial community in Farmville. The Madhouse, a state-of-the-art clubhouse and headquarters for MSC's University of Virgina offices, was built in June of 2004. In 2005, an extensive rehabilitation was completed of Rugby Apartments, located on University Circle in Charlottesville. In Spring of 2006, MSC opened a Hampton Inn in Farmville, as well as Sunchase Cinema and Sunchase Shoppes. Also in 2006 MSC completed the acquisition of Sunchase at East Carolina in Greenville, North Carolina. In 2007 MSC started the construction of twenty-eight units at The Pointe at 14th Street and twenty-four additional units at Sunchase Harrisonburg. The success of MSC is attributable to a team approach and high service standards. More than 160 full-time and 50 part-time personnel employed throughout Virginia and North Carolina enable Management Services Corporation to provide the same level of personal dedication today as it did as a small company over 30 years ago. |
